Once you know that Playful Learning is the right fit for your child, it’s time to fill out our application and tell us about you and your family.

ACCEPTANCE AND ONBOARDING

Once we notify you of availability,
it’s time to onboard into our systems. Once completed, you’ll have everything thing you need for smooth transition into school.

What does a typical day look like?

While each age group has their own schedule and order of doing things all of our classrooms follow a daily routine.

Here is an example:

1.Drop off outside: outdoor Investigations

2. Washing hands

3. Circle Time: greeting each other, music & movement, read aloud, mini-lessons

4. Snack

5. Open Studio: exploration of classroom

6. Circle Time: whole class lessons featuring stories and songs

What is your separation policy?

Playful Learning has a very kind and gentle separation policy. You can read our, Guide to Your Child’s First Separation, here.

Are your programs play-based or academic?

Playful Learning is a method of early childhood education that artfully weaves together play with learning. Through our expertly-curated curriculum and classrooms, students playfully work their way through carefully-planned, interdisciplinary, thematic explorations that meet the needs of the whole child.

From the toddlers who courageously separate for the first time, to the pre-kers who enthusiastically work towards cracking the phonetic code—and every age in between—Playful Learning is here to help children and families thrive through the early childhood years.

Does my child need to be toilet trained to join Playful Learning?

No, we are fully equipped to change diapers. When your child is ready we will work with your family to support this important milestone for your child.

It’s also a good idea, to sign-up for the Playful Learning Newsletter, to receive updates about our programs, as well as parenting resources for families who live on the east end of Long Island.

What is your Summer Lab cancellation policy?

At the time of registration, clients are required to put down a 50% deposit, of which $1600.00 is non-refundable. We can accommodate and refund your deposit (except the $1600 non-refundable portion) until April 1, 2023. After that date there are no refunds. Change of dates and sessions are accommodated based on availability. There are no refunds issued for sick or missed days.
